LENS is a studio for interaction art and design, founded in 2014 by Kenichi Okada and Kunie Hiyamizu.<\/p>\n

We explore values rooted in human perception\u2014such as tactile sensation, joy, and wonder\u2014that are difficult to quantify or put into words. Our work spans a wide range of media, including interactive installations, spatial experiences, and moving images, all designed to bring these subtle qualities to life through both artistic expression and research.<\/p>\n

Many of our creations begin with physical actions like touching, making, or playing. Through these embodied experiences, children become absorbed, and even adults find themselves returning to a childlike sense of curiosity. In the midst of these playful encounters, an unexpected perspective\u2014a hidden layer of meaning\u2014quietly emerges from the things and landscapes around us. Creating these kinds of moments and spaces is at the heart of what we do.<\/p>\n

From conceptual design and prototyping to fabrication and engineering across both hardware and software, we work hands-on throughout the entire process. Bridging art and technology, we transform ideas into tangible, immersive experiences.<\/p>\n

We aspire to be like a lens\u2014shifting the way we see the world, gently bringing focus to the hidden \u201cmysteries\u201d and \u201cdelights\u201d that lie within the everyday.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\nKenichi Okada is a Tokyo-based interaction designer whose work explores the intersection of art, design, and technology. After earning his degree from the Royal College of Art in the UK, he joined Sony\u2019s Creative Center, where he continued to refine his approach to creating meaningful experiences through diverse media including film, product design, and immersive installations. His work aims to spark creativity and curiosity, inviting audiences to engage with the world in new ways. Okada\u2019s projects have been exhibited at renowned institutions such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and 21_21 DESIGN SIGHT in Tokyo.
